religious temples in India.
In Southern India, it is known that Hindu pilgrims donate their hair in holy temples for purification, and also to repay their dept to their Hindu gods, and these hair are collected and later sold to our women.
Here is how it is done;
At the temple, there are alot of Stand-by barbers, and when the women arrive to cut their hair, the barbers first tie the hair in ponytail form, before cutting. Then they make use of razor blades to shave the heads of the women, before washing the bloody head with water.

After the barbing of the hair, they (the hair) are then sold to companies, who then transports them to factories for processing.
On arrival to the factory, the hair are first separated, and then soaked in acid to disinfect them.
The hair is then placed in chemicals that makes them shiny, curly, elastic and ready for dyeing.
After dyeing, they are then transported back to the companies, who in turn sells it to buyers around the world.
So the next time you go to buy a human hair, just have it at the back of your mind that it is really a human hair, and that there is a woman somewhere in Southern India getting her hair shaved off to purify herself.
